SUMMARY:Long Buckby\, June 13th 2024
DESCRIPTION:Lone Wolf Comedy Club feat. Sol Bernstein\, Tom Deacon & host Andrew Bird\nShow details:\n \nSol Bernstein\nWhen a legend reaches a certain point in their career\, it’s time to ease up on doing legendary things and reflect on an exemplary life. Sol Bernstein has reached that point\, and he invites us to listen to his tales of the high life with the biggest names in showbiz\, musings on how the world has changed\, and being just an ordinary Jew with world-beating wit\, unbounded talent and death-defying chutzpah.\n\n\nSinger\, dancer\, comedian\, magician\, actor and musician Sol Bernstein was born in Ukraine. Having been rated Best Triangle Player by Miles Davis\, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington in the 1950s\, he went on to perform across the globe at venues such as The London Palladium\, New York’s Carnegie Hall\, The Paris Olympia\, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and Scunthorpe Working Mens Club.\n\nBut despite such a life\, Sol has suffered unforgiveable injustice. Heard of Elvis Presley? No? How about The Beatles? Really? Ok then\, surely Marcel Marceau? Good. Well\, Sol Bernstein launched the careers of these greats and many more*\, and what did he get for it? Nada. Nothing\, not even a ‘thank you‘. But having escaped the Pogroms in Russia and the Nazis in Germany as a child\, Bernstein is no stranger to pain and hardship – in all their forms – have made the man what he is. Such struggles – be they life-threatening or female nagging – give Sol Bernstein not only the inspiration to face each new day but the material for his limitless supply of comedy shtick. The resulting performances have given the man good reason to enjoy fame and build friendships with the likes of Burt Bacharach\, James Brown and Harry Hill. He’s still waiting for the fame.\n\n\nSol Bernstein has got so much to say and being now in his 80s\, so little time to say it. Catch this legend and genius while you still have the chance.\n\n \nTom Deacon\n2020 was set to be an exciting year for Tom as he was filming his first ever Standup Special. The show ‘Rapture’ was performed at the 2019 New Zealand comedy festival and was picked up to make after its success. \nTom sometimes can’t believe that this will be his 14th year performing stand-up around the UK and world. He’s loved every minute because his versatile and charming persona have led him to be a part of so many incredible things in the presenting world. \nHe has been performing live stand-up for the last 14 years – with four Edinburgh solo shows under his belt – and has been the host of his own TV\, radio and online shows on BBC2\, BBC Radio1\, The Capital FM breakfast show\, plus host of Gfinity Esports shows and YouTube football channel Copa90 – where his Eurofan escapades have notched up over 8 million views. \nTom has made guest appearances on BBC2’s The Rob Brydon Show\, Dave’s One Night Stand and ITV2’s Fake Reaction \nHe is currently the host of F1 Esports Pro Series . A journey into the world of Esports has led Tom to host on the Sky F1 channel for the first ever F1 sports tournament which took place during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix of 2017. Tom has hosted every year including the Virtual Grand Prix Series which drew a record breaking 30million views across TV and Digital platforms. The 2021 series will be back and bigger than ever. \n“A mighty fine comic” \nThe Guardian \n“With looks\, confidence\, charm and great material; expect other comics to lynch him” \nThe Sunday Times \nTV \n  \n \nAndrew Bird\nANDREW BIRD appeared on “The Russell Howard Hour” and supported Russell on tour including Bristol’s Ashton Gate Football stadium and six shows at The London Palladium. He’s also supported Rhod Gilbert\, Rob Brydon\, America’s Brian Regan and Michelle Wolfe on their only London shows and Michael McIntyre on an entire arena tour including Wembley and the O2. He’s written on the TV shows Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. \n“A brilliantly funny” – Russell Howard \n“Birdie supported my on my arena tour and made me laugh every night.
